Luckily, I was able to see a live gig of West London emcee AJ Tracey, and his live performance is quite stellar. Tracey is currently fresh off a collab US tour with Dave, where the duo sold out multiple shows across multiple cities in America.
Tracey has an interesting flow which separates himself from a lot of other Grime artists in the game. Tracks like “Luke Cage” and “Pasta” are just a few fire tracks off his self-titled EP that have been ringing off in clubs throughout London for months now. Using catchy flows and memorable choruses, Tracey effectively weaves in clever verses that are impressive and eye-opening. The likes of these have been pushing Tracey‘s music forward in the last few months in the underground Grime scene.
He’s been slowly emerging in the spotlight with collaborations with Denzel Curry, Clams Casino, and most famously with Dave for the song “Thiago Silva” (which is fiiiiire). These two were even seen together at The Fader Fort at SXSW this year, where they performed what is becoming a smash hit in the States.
Together AJ Tracey and Dave are becoming a dynamic duo, but individually they each have star power to hold their own. Watch out for Tracey this summer as he appears on a multitude of music festivals around the world.
