Installment number 9 of my weekly playlist series for EVRYDY dot com. As always, I bring you nothing but the freshest tracks that are scattered throughout the realm of SoundCloud. My goal is to unearth artists that may be novel to the listener of these playlists. Even if you are familiar with said artist, at the very least, I hope to introduce you to a particular song that could be considered as a deep cut or a loose single that was lost in the fray because it wasn’t heavily promoted. A 40 minute, colorful sampling of 11 tracks, across all genres, have been provided to you for your listening pleasure. The selections in bold represent the best of the best for the week.

After the op-ed I wrote last week about my views on the outcome of the recent US Presidential election, I figured that I should lighten things up with the cover photo for this week. The adorable child represents all of our collective faces on Thanksgiving when Auntie Mae lifted the aluminum foil off of her immaculately golden tray of Mac n Cheese. Awe, admiration, appreciation. For many reasons, Thanksgiving is a problematic holiday because of the true history that it celebrates; but I’m not here to belabor that point. I’m tired of combative discussions and arguments.
Disputes are an unavoidable part of life that will rear its ugly head probably tomorrow, but this past Thursday unofficially marked the start of the Holiday season. I could honest careless about the consumerism aspect of the Holidays. This year, more than any other year, I will be thankful for family and friends by cherishing the ample time that we have together. We may have had a swirling sh*tstorm of year to deal with, but 2016 is finally starting to wind down. My advice to everyone (and to myself as well): take a note from that chubby kid in the skully cap and smile. Learn to appreciate the small things like copious amounts of leftovers.
